1871 fusee pocket watch identify? Info maker?

Good afternoon, i bought this pocket watch for my collection of pocket watches, but i can't find anything about the maker and was wondering if someone can give me opinion about the originality. The dial and movements are signed G.W Halfhide New Cross Road, but i didn't find nothing about this watchmaker and his history. From the silver hallmarks i found its made in 1871, but JN initial i did not find anything about who is the casemaker. I hope the movement and case are not changed or from different watches. Opinions and help please. Kind regards

Watchmaker George William Halfhide from London. Known works between 1863 - 1881. Give me a moment for the case maker. Movement and case belong together. It was quite normal that they were made by different people. Often even the pendant come from someone else.

Case maker most likely James Thomas Newman, 4 Charles Street, City Road, London. He registered his business in 1863.

Looks like it has a diamond center stone (bearing for the balance shaft in the bridge). All original, perhaps except for the seconds hand. Hour and minute hand correct.

It has been engraved later around the keyhole to hide scratches. Looks like very recently, but nicely done.

What hallmarks do you have in the pendant? On the opposite side of the silver hallmarks, there could be the initials of the maker.

Excellent condition, provided it is running. The name of the owner has been scratched in too deep, that can't be removed.

    Nice watch alltogether.
