In 1889 Anna Jean got a fine watch bribe.

William Milner of a prominent Chicago retail business family wanted his father's watch that was willed to his wife. So he got a replacement to trade for it. No indication this attempt was successful. Her gift watch is still new and runs with no oiling since 1889. A six size 5 color 14k best small size model 1 Elgin lever set. Favored middle name Jean on case front, Anna inside. I bet fathers watch was a really good special one.
