1902 Dueber exhibition p.w. cases sold by Sears to anyone

Surprised to learn I apparently have an all original Hampden Special RR with Dueber glass back display case. Sears sold these complete watches so probably others did.

Probably were salesman sample cases.. they usually have the name of the company on them. I bought a case once that had crystals on both sides.. well, front bezels on both sides. lol I put my 940 in it:

Glass back p.w.cases originally mostly for sale demo use were sold directly to users and lately more are open face cases modified with a back glass. My preference for movements without original or appropriate gold case. Well fitted by Bill Tapp for maximum exposure, here a modified one and sales demo w.w.(not for sale) Universal POLEROUTER.

1890+ 18size Special Railway best from Hampden. 1897 cost more than best from Elgin and Waltham

14 size model 1874 Waltham 1882? with split second chronograph mechanism. There is also a rare one like it with a 15 minutes register and as well as a simple chronograph that is shown here.
I like your Hamilton and fine case for it. My first choice for good mvnt. needing a case. Your's as well?

Actually I bought it because at the time I was into size 18 pocket watches, but I didn't like the case it was in so I thought I would get something that would show off the movement. :) Those pocket watches are super cool!! Can't imagine they made too many of them!

What is source for glass back cases? The Waltham horse timers are uncommon. Maybe 200 made of best split second version.
