1909 Elgin Class 116/320 from Antique Store

Just wanted to share a cool find from an antique store outside of San Francisco. Popped in for a quick look and walked out with this little gem. The dial is in great condition for 100 years old. It seems to be some sort of transitional pocket watch...Quite small. My girlfriend has been wearing it around her wrist on a homemade bracelet :)

Keeps great time, consistently losing about 2 minutes per day but will probably be keeping perfect time after an adjustment.

    Love this little watch!

    Cheers,

    Eric

Cool. And nice to hear its being worn again. The idea of these was that they could be worn on the wrist or as a fob. But make sure the home-made bracelet is secure - if it falls off it will break.

Thanks for the info. Cool find for sure. I'm trying to make a bracelet that will keep it secure but will allow the watch to spin around so she can show off the movement. When I figure it out I will share!!

Ive seen many watches from this era with wire lugs. Im tempted to have some laser soldered on but dont want to ruin the watch. I'm a firm believer in unpolished original cases, but if installing lugs is what it takes to make a pocketwatch wearable,... Is it worth it? Pocket watch experts, whats your take..?

Its your watch - but IMHO it would spoil it. Its perfectly wearable as is with the right bracelet- see
