    1910 OMEGA Pocket Watch

Here's a picture of the first pocket watch that I've acquired. Movement no. dates this to around 1910

Oh my...Sir, do you have the time? Or what?!?

That's just stunning. What is the case made of?

Case is chromed steel as there are no hallmarks other than the one of Omega. Here's a larger sized picture. She's not bad looking considering she's 100 years old.

It's certainly a fine watch, Magnus. Or at least, it looks like one.

Also, welcome to the WatchUSeek forums.

Thank you for your kind words and for the warm welcome. I don't really know much about pocket watches as I'm more into vintage Omega wristwatches. However I felt I just had to get this particular watch after seeing it.

Nice, but I'm not sure about the authenticity of the dial. The logo looks like it isn't quite straight, and I believe that font was introduced after 1910. My impression at least, perhaps an Omega conosseur can clear things up.

Thanks for your input. I'd really like to hear from the members of the forum info about this watch. I brought this to the Omega service center here in my country where they cleaned up the movement. The techs who looked at the watch examined the dial and under magnification saw:

    - the cartouche on which the word OMEGA is printed on matches the same color of the dial, i.e. same yellow/gold shade
    - the rectagular cartouche where the OMEGA word is printed is also in relief over the floral relief pattern; i.e the rectangular shape is not painted but etched on the dial (hope I'm making sense and describing this correctly)

They took photos of the watch and told me that they have emailed their head office. I hope to hear from them soon.

Can the Dial have been worked on by somebody after it left the factory?
    The Engraving looks "un-Omegaish".
