    Nice pics and... great movements!
It's true that technological progress allowed the producers to make really small movements. I once bought my mother a fabulous GF Bulova - a tiny dress watch with stunning looks and I wads amazed by the movement size. The s,mallest I've got is this Soviet Chaika:

The Chaika 1200 movement, the smallest made in USSR, was about 12mm long and 9mm wide. It's really very small :)

Nice contrast! The other thing about the difference in size is the difference in sound level. The ladies watches are so quiet you have to practically stuff them in you ear hole to hear them, whereas the 16s PWs are so loud that the last time I left one running on the nightstand, it was so loud my wife woke me up to make me put it in a drawer - the ticking was keeping her awake!
Don't take life so serious, son. It ain't nohow permanent - Pogo
