    1952 Rolex

    Hi folks.

    I have a 1952 Rolex (ref. 6098).
Would anyone know if the presence of "Explorer" on the dial adds to its value?

    Thanks

    Brent

That's a screwdown crown? Looks odd...

According my sources the 6098 didn't have "Explorer" on the dial in 1952. Can you post the markings from inside the case back?

Apparently, the crown/tube are not original. I will be replacing with Super Oyster Crown/tube.
I don't have photos of the inside. I need to get a jeweler to open it up for me again so I can save some images.
The first three digits on the case are 846 XXX along with 6098.

From my research, Rolex did add "Explorer" to some dials late in 1952. I have seen a few other examples on the internet.

That doesn't bode well. Neither does the presence of lume dots obscuring the minute markings. Serious misgivings here.

    To answer your question
    ABSOLUTELY
By about by about six or seven times MORE!!!

It was launched in the 50s
But to me the "explorer" looks added? Not sure
