    1952 Vintage Hamilton Lyndon

    Hi all,

I was told to cross post here as this may be the best forum to seek an answer. So here it goes...

Anyone with experience buying from coolvintagewatches.com? The 1952 Hamilton Lyndon here would fill a hole in my watch collection at a seemingly affordable price. However, it has been very difficult to find if these watches are indeed serviced and up to the quality claimed, information on the seller and if the asking price is fair. Any opinions?

This is the description on the site:

1952. Original dial has a light patina. white dial with applied numerals. Cool hands. All gold filled case with fancy long lugs... snap back is in very nice condition. Case size (33 x 11 x 42mm) Quad signed (Dial Movement Case Crown) Serviced - 17 jewel manual wind movement. Sports a vintage black suede 18mm fine leather strap. NICE. A GREAT LOOKING 50's HAMILTON!

Thanks in advance for all the help and hopefully I'll be able to pay it forward.

You can try searching the forum for the vendor. Some past experiences may be useful.

I always assume vendors are lying even when they say serviced unless I have dealt with them before... usually I am right. But service for these is not expensive.

Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

I'm afraid I'll never get experience with the seller, because I'd never consider to buy a watch with such a poor description and without movement pic - at least not from a professional for such a price.

This is a well established dealer that gets high prices for good reasons. I have many good Hamiltons from mamy sources. Find good dealers like this will often accept lower by 20 - 30% offers. They price to allow discounting. But also call to discuss.
