    1960 Seamasters new life

Hi, some time ago I bumped into this old Omega Seamaster, and It was in quite terrible shape. It had no strap, the crystal was practically one big scratch, the face was covered in hairs and other particles and the hands were full of black spots. I took it to watchsmith for a total service and about 1 month later and very reasonable fee later I got the watch back, and put a band on it.

Quickie pics taken with cellphone so forgive the quality, but just wanted to share

Great job there Always nice to bring a watch back to life like this, especially if it didn't cost too much

Very nice. The old Seamasters are great watches. I wear mine a lot.
To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Cheers, only facade-part they replaced is the crystal as the old one was so scratchy. The face has a beutiful bronze patina which really doesn't show in the pictures. I assume they did the normal prodecure for the movement; taking it apart and replacing the oils and such. Will have to see how accurately this thing runs but I've heard these oldie Omegas have quite a good quality movements.
