    1960's? Summit 17J all steel

Got this one today, it is a Summit 17 Jewelled watch, it is in very good untouched original condition and was running ok when I bought it.
Not sure of the movement though it has SU 6305 stamped on the bridge and 6305 and 6300 under the balance.

It had a few light scratches which came off easily thought I have noticed a couple on the crystal that still need a little work, it appears to be fully stainless steel though is not marked as such, it certainly does not appear to be chrome plated.
It runs fine and the date changes ok, not sure about time keeping as I have only had it a day though so far it hasn't appeared to lose anything.

    And a few more pictures;
It justs needs a new strap though the distance between the lugs is 19.5mm, overall the dimensions are 43mm across including crown and 43mm edge of lug to edge of lug, it is 11mm thick.

Very nice. Looks to be a Unitas 6305 (SU for Suter according to Dr R)

A 20mm strap should squash down into the lugs OK.

No idea whether Summit was a brand of Suter or it's simply an accident.
Since I record watches in my archive, I had five Suters:
    http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-...sau&1040832120
    http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-...sau&1048694410

    http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-...sau&1194451219

Four of them had a calibre signature with leading "SU", an idicator that
    the Summit came from Suter.

But all had a serial number and a reference number on the back, an
indicator that the Summit came not from Suter.

Thank you gentlemen, the only thing I can see that's possibly needing attention is a relume on the hands as some has cracked and come off I think.
The hands look identical; to these http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-...sau&1048694410
though in silver and the second hand is identical and quite distinctive I think.
It was from my favourite local car boot and I paid £15 which is more than I usually would pay, though on occassion I will go to £30 but no more at least that's what I tell the good lady!
Nice to know the movement was considered reliable enough for the German Army.
