    2 Waltham Wm Ellery civil war era



    Here is a pair of civil war era Wm Ellery walthams they were some times called the soldier's pockit watch they were the lowest price watch sold by waltham they are deffernt models the first one a model 1859 serial no 59864,year 1862, 7 jewel key wind,the other is a model 1857 ,serial no 132058, year 1864 7 jewel key wind there was a article in the NAWCC Bulletin that said President Abraham Lincoln owned a Wm Ellery pockit watch.

    Thanks for posting them. Those Civil War Walthams or E Howard watches are extremely popular with re-enactors.

    What a beautiful pair of pocket watches!!
    Imagine, 150 years old! Despite being on the lower end of the pocket watch scale, still very good looking movements!
    Do both pocketwatches work well?

    Lincoln did indeed own a Waltham pocket watch. It really is something. Here's some photos of it:
