    57 jewels Titoni!

    Hello guys,

I like to collect something unusual, so here is a 57 jewels automatic Titoni. It could be an earlier movement as it still has a screwed balance. I know that those jewels are mainly for decoration, but it is still better than steel ball berings IMHO. I will appreciate any input on this watch.

    Cheers,

    Zhang

    Hi Zhang,

I wonder where the jewels are hidden. Are the holes of the ratchet wheels
filled with rubis to prevent dust to pass the holes?

And believe me, this movement has no ball bearung - neither with steel nor
with ruby balls. It appears to be from the ETA 25XX generation, which was
available with ball bearing (looking different), and steel or jewel bearing
    (both looking like yours).

    Regards, Roland Ranfft

    Hi Roland,

Thank you very much for the kind reply. Yes, those holes are filled with jewels and some more on other gears hidden below the metal parts. There should be 36-40 jewels on the automatic component if the base movement was 17-21 jewels. The movement is signed ETA 2452 under the balance.

I just heard that there is a rare 77 jewels Titoni and some other brands even has more than 100 jewels. Those demand a much higher price to a collector here.
The ETA 2452 seems like an earlier movement as it has a screw balance. It sounds like a 18,000 bph movement.

    kind regards

    Zhang
