Confused 85 year old Swiss made vintage wristwatch

I would be very grateful if anyone can help me with information on a watch I am researching. It's a long shot, as the watch is so old, but here goes...
Has anyone heard of a company/ manufacturer/ supplier named "Walter"?
I have recently acquired a vintage (c 1926) silver gents wristwatch with UK assay marks,
with a generic "15 jewel", "swiss made" movement. On the face the name "Walter" can just be made out. I've Googled the name, but nothing has come close. Tough one?

Try asking in the Vintage & Pocketwatch forum - but don't forget to show pictures in that thread.

So many brands from this era were jewelers/importers or some other ephemeral name. Apart from a small number of these watches - having a name is of no advantage (except obviously for famous makes).

You should judge the watch on its merits, the quality of the movement and shape of the case etc. It is good it is silver and can be accurately dated. Even identifying the movement will be a challenge in many cases.

    P.S. we like photos anyway.

Thanks one and all! I'll try and get some pictures up when the watch is back from being cleaned (didn't want to attempt cleaning it myself!)
    Best regards
