Advice re stainless steel swiss made bracelet

    https://forums.watchuseek.com/f222/advice-re-swiss-made-stainless-steel-expanding-bracelet-1546722.html

I posted this to the "Straps and Bracelets" forum but haven't had any responses so thought, as it relates to an old bracelet (I think), I would try linking it here.

I don't know for sure but I've always thought of that style of 'stretchy' bracelet with square links/panels as from the 50's. I would guess that it was bought as a replacement after the original strap wore out. I'd imagine they are very fiddly to repair - but you might be able to find a similar one in NOS condition.

    Completed ebay listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-High...item3cf1526512

Someone else may now more of course.

Personally, I think they are far more comfortable than the majority of sprung straps which tend to snag wrist hairs on me.

You might look up Squinky on ebay. I've purchased several vintage NSA bracelets from him for my watches. He has a good supply.

Thanks people. I like fixing things so as this band cost me nothing I'll have a go at sorting it.

Yeh, I thought it had the appearance of the 50s about it; but this obviously isn't the band it was sold with as I assume that would have been Omega branded - leather?

I'm sure this is 1930's/1940's, and I used to have one myself exactly the same.
This type of expanding bracelet design goes back further, this one uses the same sprung principle but dates to 1917.

The bracelet is made by Henry & Cie of Geneva. Here is an advertisement from 1946. Cheers from the cellar PS Also posted in the "Straps and Bracelets" forum
