this is an old poor pic of my 1966 dodge charger. the car is in primer right now and hopefully will be adorned in silver base with metalflake in the clear... originally i wanted a 1966 bulova accutron astronaut but they are so tiny and cantankerous if anything goes wrong.. that was what started the craze for me. now my collection of watches spans from 1845-ish to the 1970's. i mainly have kept WWI era stuff and WWII stuff but my goal is more diver for now..vintage diver that is. since i have immersed myself in watches and read book after book and post after post, i am understanding the higher end watches. my wife? no. she'll never get it. that's ok. if the time was right we could make anything happen.

i have read some very interesting posts on birth year rolex's and omega's. i like the idea but i rather doubt 1974 was a very interesting year for timepieces. i would rather keep in the era of my favorite car, my 1966 charger. i have an era appropriate transistor radio and 6 pack of mountain dew. i also have the appropriate mid-sixties polaroid sunglasses.
i am not deadset for or against rolex or tudor. but i think the idea is neat, a 1966 rolex or tudor? a glyciene airman?

please post any watches you would think would compliment this car.
her name is ELVIRA. and this is a pic of what she will look like but substitute the red interior for black.

you mentioned omega what about a omega ploprof this was esp made for diving in mind hence the name PLOngeur PROFessionnel french for Professional Diver it took 4 years to make and came on the market in 1970 so really it started out in 1966 hope this helps its a chunk of a watch but an icon in the diving world ( not that i am a diver) the watch looks so much better on the wrist then in any pics, its a beast, this would smash the teeth out of a shark and still survive thats after you have dazzled it with the lume.

me again if that omega ploprof looks too scary you could always go for the tone done version the omega seamaster 300, this came out in the late 50s, but these are hard to find, some people opt for the watchco from austrailia, these use all original movement 5** calibre taken out of other omegas and recased in parts for the omega 300, most parts can still be bought new for most omegas thats the great thing about these watches

A 1966 diver style watch... stylish... fits the era...

    '66 speedmaster?

Maybe not '66 but about '71, I believe the dial is in different colours, Vintage Diver, rare, quality and kinda funky.

Universal Geneve Polerouter Sub was a diver watch made 1961-1968. Universal Geneve can be dated accurately by the serial number. It was a big watch for the sixties at 42 mm and is highly collectible. It would be a perfect match for your highly collectible '66 Charger.
