    Another crazy link...

Yet another case of gross plagiarism from our favourite copycat artists...

Gun Metal -Oxidization? - Vintage Watches - WatchTalkForum

Even posted the original names of members here. It looks like a complete thread rip-off.

They sure have nothing else to do, there must be just one member!

This is a mirror site of WatchUSeek. We've made 143 DMCA take down requests to their service provider only to have them move to another.

That link doesn't work-for me, anyway.

Neither does it work for me. Some sort of "error" claptrap about permissions and insufficient privileges shows up.

As to the site, it appears that they've just copied everything they could. I just wonder, who bothers looking there at all? Looking for any vintage watch info on Google usually results in links to WUS threads/posts/articles, and I suppose that the "copycat" site doesn't receive enough views to show up as one of the results most relevant to the search query.

For any inquiries regarding vintage Doxa watches, please read the highlighted text in my vintage Doxa thread. Sorry, but I will not respond to PMs on the matter.

DMCA takedown request explained here: What is a DMCA Takedown? - DMCA.com

Brad (CMSgt. Bo), do you mean they change service provider every time a takedown request is made?

    Re: Another crazy link...

Yes, we started out small with their (our) BaselWorld coverage since it was funded content (we sent a 7 person team to BW this year to generate the content) owned by WUS/VS. We figured if we submitted new requests weekly for large blocks of their content they would eventually give up and take the site down...we were wrong.

I spent several hours putting together the information required for the DMCA request, which was submitted the following week. The site owner simply moved the site to another server/service provider. We went after the new service provider, so they promptly moved again. So now we're in a protracted game of Whack-a-Mole with these clowns.

This is far from over, since WatchTalkForum (no s) is also a VerticalScope asset the Legal Department is looking into taking direct legal action against the URL owner.

I hope that gives you a better idea of what we're doing behind the scenes to protect your (and our) contributions to this community.

Brad, good luck with your endeavors!

Personally, I hope you annihilate them. I don't see what their purpose or objective is, just what do they get out of it?

To WUS VINTAGE of course - if there wasn't real value here in the REAL WUS world - we wouldn't see Copy Kats ! SDA

I think what they get out of it is payment for
"click throughs". They get paid by
advertisers when you click on a provided
link to their (the advertisers) site.
In other words, their making some money at this.
