another lesser known brand swallowed up by the quartz revolution

I got this from my watchmaker today for $30. It's an older giroxa automatic that has an ETA 2459 17 jewel movement. (pre ball bearing?) it's super thin and runs great but don't know too much about it. What do you guys think of this movement? Typical midrange I'm guessing. Also I'm guessing it's pre 1970 due to seeing how it says "waterproof".

Yes you do. I also was wondering if I saw that or if I was crazy. Seems to be an eta 2452 and not a 2459. Maybe a replacement? It's more than 17 jewels

SO SO many great Swiss divers made in the mid 60s to late 70s. All history now, for the most part. Nice watch and great price. The movement looks like one in a watch I posted on 'rare' brands thread with the name 'ACTA'. But I can not open the back any more - as its stuck and the wrench it needs is very shallow. So its going off to the watchmaker for a c/s and then who knows? Good luck with yours.

Would almost have to be...your watchmaker probably did a swap to get it running. Good deal.
