I love these watches. They're just so ... deceptive. It's a Roskoff, with a clever little "dimple" where the "center wheel" would be on a normal watch, to make the casual viewer think it's a good-quality lever. I have one that actually bolts a cap-jewel on it to complete the illusion. Oh, and those cap jewels are about as useful as red paint. Odds are, the pinions dont' come anywhere near them. Like the center dimple, they're just there for show. Watches like these would be advertised with pictures in the local paper in the early 1900's with text that heavily implied they were the equal of a 21 jewel railroad watch, but could be purchased for some trivial amount like $5.

Yes, a "Swiss fake" watch, intended to deceive the unwary into thinking they were getting the equivalent of a good US railroad pocket watch. They are silly enough that they are a bit of fun, and I've sometimes considered they would be an interesting niche collecting field. There are many, many, clever variations on naming and movement tricks to collect. Even today some sellers are continuing the time-honoured ruse of trying to sell these as more than they are, (or perhaps they are just ignorant).
