    any info on this Longines quartz

    Looking for any information on this Longines quartz watch it was given to me recently dont know if the W is Wittneur or not any suggestions thanks Came from Canada

    The "W" must stand for the company the owner worked for and going by the case I would say it's before the takeover so late 70's early 80's is my guess.

    It looks to have a litrtle tab on the back so it should be easy to open it up to show us the movement and sometimes there is a very nice one inside.

    The owner was the wifes uncle who died last year and it was left to me and l am very pleased to have it will check tomorrow as on tablet in bed l have checked the movement it has 7 jewels will open after work thanks for the info

    Indeed it looks 70s-80s... Maybe eve 90s... ?

    The W is probably a logo of a company, and the watch itself was probably given to the person named on the caseback (or received from him/her...).

    One never knows as they reused styles but the hands does suggest late 70's.

    Movement shotInside of the back case reads Longines Wittnauer Star W C co Googled Star Watch case co so must have been before 1982 I would have guessed

    Oh my! EEM are the movements I fear the most. Wich number does it have (bottom of the picture).

    I didn't know Longines used them and it must have been a short time as they were only used round 1979-81.
