Any info on this vintage pocket watch?

My father gave it to me years ago. It runs and keeps good time, but I only ran it once because I know it should be serviced. I would love to have it restored, but I know that would be really expensive. I believe it says 1838 at 4:00 on the inside of the case. Thanks for any information you guys can give me.

Never heard of Tribune Watch co. But it's a stem wind so it is at oldest late 19th c. The profile looks early 20th c. To me though. Illinois case is worth a bit. Pocket watches had standardized movements and cases so it wasn't uncommon to have a different movement and case. Other than that, I have no clue.

The watch looks like 1920s vintage. The Swiss movement was cased in an American made Illinois Watch Case Co. case. I'm guessing that the Tribune Watch Co. was a US based importer.

The general bridge style is a little Buren-ish, e.g.

...although other makers used it too.
