Any of you addicted to old watches?

I've been collecting watches for around a year. Most cost me between $2 and $20 with a few that were more special that I paid more for. At this point I have around 10 watches. Last week I bought 2 more online. Anyway, I've had to promise myself not to buy anymore of these until I sell some of the older ones. But... there are so many cool old watches out there and a lot of them are actually pretty cheap! Arg! I actually wear all of these, usually a different one for different occasions. I use my beater Timexes out in the shop. Others are nicer and worn to nights on the town.

So... I'm guessing others must share my "disease"? If so- how many of these things do some of you own?

Depends on how you measure...I have about 25 in what I consider "wearable" condition, and about 15 that I've cleaned and serviced but need some minor tweaking or parts. Beyond that, I have between 1 and 2 hundred "parts", "project" etc. watches. Most of mine are detailed on my website (below), although I've been falling behind on my updates...

My thought exactly. I was getting rid of a few to make room for some incoming. However...I now think that's a problem I shouldn't have to worry about.

Yes, I have well over 100 wearable - probably 150-200 including ones waiting on service.

I don't think you have a problem yet.

ha ha...this is a good place for that. I "only" have 15-ish that I wear and several waiting for me to repair/service.

And neither do you (my wearables are about that size... but I don't have more than a hundred awaiting service because I haven't mastered that as well as you.)

"The watch has to be surrounded by a history.
You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!
