    Anybody know of Luxor?

Can any of you gentlemen shed a little light on the watch below?

I have not been very successful in tracking down information about this piece. I am aware of the modern Luxor dive watches but as a vintage maker they don't seem very prolific.

Without wishing to bad mouth my own watch, it doesn't look particularly high-dollar but it does keep good time and it only cost £16.00 from the bay!

Any information would be appreciated :thanks

I'd guess it's from around 1950. It has shock protection.

Luxor is listed as a company operating in the 50's here:

and as a brand belonging to Zenith here:

    http://www.findownersearch.com/category/CLOCKS/

This appears to show that Zenith took responsibility for the Luxor pension fund at some point:

This shows that it was merged into Zenith in 1987 (I think)

    http://rc.ne.ch/extrcomp.asp?nodos=30077%2F1978

Other than that nothing much comes up!

Luxor was founded in 1935 by J H Brunner. Another brand they used was Dragon.
