anyone know anything about the older eta 2452?

Or the brand giroxa? As some of you may know I picked up a mid 60s giroxa automatic with this movement in it. Just never really heard of it before. Kinda reminds me of a cross between the 2824 and the 2892

Giroxa was registered in La Chaux de Fonds in 1945 and was short for Girard & Ochsner. AS for the ETA 2452, this was an extension of the ETA 2391 (which in itself resembles the ETA 1081 family) but with automatic winding. The whole thing is very compact and has about 70% material (i.e. only 30% of the movement is air, quite a high material:space ratio). It was the first automatic movement in the family, others followed (e.g. the ETA 2472 which I have in a 1965 Provita watch).

They were just a standard user of generic movements and thus the same as about 80-90% of the industry. Their merit is in the movement, not the name.
