Ya mate, just a quick coat of pink on the dial and et Bob est ton oncle, as they say...

Not so bad, but not so economic as a project; you'd still end up with a Rolex with a re-done dial and so on…

That was a great challenge you gave us but it actually doesn't look to bad. Two bridge screws are missing and one cap jewel screw has been replaced, the dial is horrible but could be saved. I would love to have seen the dial side of the movement as this would tell for sure the condition of the movement.

I agree, Shum, but I still think that the offer price was too high to take those sorts of chances. You're looking at a dial refinish, case re-finish, a parts hunt (good luck on the hands!) and fingers crossed the rust isn't too bad inside. Anyway, it all yours! He's re-listed it. Re: Anyone for a project?

It's for someone with a big wallet and willing to do the hunt round the world for the parts needed. Or someone willing to pay for a new redial then flog it for 10 times more as a project. So either you make it into a life mission or a quick money maker.

It's all about how the dial looks and how dishonest one is willing to be because if the dial looks good and a new crystal is inserted you can sell if for a big profit. The next person might have the case done up as it's not bad either then make a profit again. So no need for the watch every getting working for it to sell and sell and...
