    Anyone with Waltham knowledge?

Got this Waltham as part of a 10 watch auction lot. I have no idea of its age or other info. It runs smoothly.Anyone know anything? Thanks in advance.

It's a generic swiss-made watch, imported by Waltham of Chicago sometime between 1959 (when they acquired the rights to the name) and 1969 (when the use of the term "waterproof" was prohibited by the FTC). These watches tend to be fairly low on the "value" spectrum, since newbies buy them under the mistaken assumption that they have some connection to the original American Waltham (which they don't)

You need to open the case to determine the movement. Most of these have Swiss ebauches from a variety of vendors.
"Forever is composed of nows." - Emily Dickinson

"The watch has to be surrounded by a history.
You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

If it is self winding, it is almost certain that the movement was from ETA, Adolf Schild or Felsa - most other makers of the higher quality generic movements had restrictions imposed on them to prevent them from making automatics.
