    "Assassins" Pocket Watches

Two Christmas's ago my father bought 2 watches for himself and my mom that have a hidden pistol in one (that appears real and with 2 bullets) and one with a vial (supposedly filled with poison) and 2 needles. Being an engineer, I looked them both over quite carefully and not only do the watches work, but the gun has a real working action, the bullets are crimped, correctly made, etc, and the poison vial looks carefully sealed.

In short everything looks real and functional, has ANYONE ever heard of such watches? My dad has looked everywhere online and has given up.

Also the story is that the pistol is in a large railroad watch because it was for a man, while the poison was in a regularly sized pocket watch to be carried by a female assassin, as a man poisoning someone was "undignified."

I don't have any pics at the moment, but I could get some fairly easily if anyone has any idea at all what these watches really are.

    Is the vial still filled?
Pics are needed, we need to see!

I have seen several PW with tiny pistols inside, calibre approx 3mm.
I guess you had to point it into the victims ear to achieve any lasting result.
Lots of stuff had hidden weapons inside, made in the 1700-late 1800 hundreds.
Maybe it was dangerous to live before the Police were invented...

Maybe this link will help. It shows the smallest pin fire pistol that can be attached to a pocket watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_TeYqvpk-A

I think these things were more like a novelty.

A more useful self defence tool was a Rapier blade in a walking stick.

But I would like to see a pic. Specially of the PW with the vial and needles.

You can buy the mini pistols here.

Sadly I suspect they would be confiscated by customs if you tried to get someone to send them to you from Austria....

Should be OK, if you ask them to state it is a Toy!

I do not want to rubbish that Austrian minigun, but the flare function is pretty useless.
Fhe flare hardly goes over the treetops, and will not stay in the air more than a few seconds.
