Welcome to the forum. Yes, it is certainly possible that it is original - but it is equally possible the it isn't original! The most important picture is small and out of focus when I blow it up but it seems to have a later ETA movement (ETA 2824??). B&M decided in 1983 that in future they would only make quartz watches (a decision lasting about 15-20 years) so the time window for that watch is somewhat short, only about ten years (it can't have been made after 1983 and it looks unlikely that is was made before 1973). The watch is certainly modelled after the Rolex "President", style which was much copied in the seventies and eighties.

I have never seen a Rolex caseback on a B&M. That doesn't mean they don't exist, but I have never seen one. If this watch were on eBay I'd pass unless it were uber-cheap!

Watch is not too expensive, but anyway I don't want to buy junk.
Unfortunately, I don't have better pictures of mechanism than this two

it unfortunately looks like a fake rolex date-just with a BM dial with what looks like a japanese/chinese automatic movement.

No, it is an ETA 2671:

Such ladies movements in gents watches are not very common, and I guess B&M (or anybody else) shot an overstock of these movements, cheap enough to justify a special dial pattern for this strange combination.
