    Baume & Mercier watch

    Good Morning,

I recently received a Baume & Mercier watch. I know very little about this watch from searching the Internet except for these facts:

    1. According to the Baume & Mercier service books it is considered a "vintage"
    2. The number on the case back, I assume this to be the model number is 11116.
    3. Baume & Mercier dealers in town can't seem to find info about it.

I can't seem to find this model number online and haven't come across any pictures of a similar watch. Sorry I can't get a picture up right now, but I will when I can.

Does anyone know more about this and the model? It was an inheritance and very little was known about the piece.

    Thanks

A picture is indeed worth a thousand words... a movement pic too if you can do it.

"The watch has to be surrounded by a history.
You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

Try that for a picture of the watch.

Difficult to say - a movement picture would pin it down further. The general style of the watch looks like 1960s or early 1970s. In 1983, B&M decided to stop making mechanical watches until the late nineties or early 2000s when they resumed (and it certainly isn't as young as that!). If the watch is mechanical, it will therefore definitely be from before 1983.
