    Benrus Military-Style Wristalarm Watch

In my watch collection this is my only mechanical military vintage watch which has an alarm function. I acquired this watch three years ago. Although it didn't get much of a wrist time from me but in fact it's one of my favorite military watches!

Not much info I could gather too, neither the nets nor the forums have enough info to help me in this purchased, but I said to myself that "I must have it"! It's love at first sight .

    Gorgeous watch.

Where does 'military' come into the story?

Thanks for the comment! The basis is from the style and appearance of another watch that is similar to that:

and also from another source that describes it as such...

thus if I am not mistaken, I inferred it to be a military watch. Do correct me if I am misled!

    cheers!

Maybe you are correct about the movement but to confirm this I have to figure out how to remove the male and female stems from the movement first. Good day!

Certainly is a nice looking watch!

As for military, I guess it depends on what you are implying.... Military in style? for which it certainly looks similar in style to military issued watches. Or do you mean this was a military issue watch? In which case, I have not seen a watch like this which was a standard military issue? Does it carry any military markings, Issue number, etc?

The 2 pics above, the first was is a military 'issue' watch by Hamilton. The second (like yours) is described as 'commemorative'.... not an actual military watch.

As i say above, a nice looking watch.... but unsure it has any real military connections (other than its styling).

Sometime we have just taken things for granted. in this case to be more specifics I should have said that it's a "Military-style alarm watch from Benrus"!

    Thanks for the input.

I haven't heard of any military-specs that include or allow "alarm" functionality. Benrus did produce a number of military watches to meet various US goverment specs; not sure if any other countries used them.

One hopes that you didn't pay a "premium" for this as a military watch; otherwise, it's a great looking piece!

I didn't pay a "premium" for that because the watch was from the E-bay auction and I won it, I remember that that time the auction didn't draw much attentions, so I am happy about the price I paid. BTW, just visited your site about watches, It's very informative.
