It is hard to say, based on the pics, if the bracelet is original. I suspect it is not.

The display back (and crystal) appears to be acrylic. I suspect it too is not original as the watch probably dates from the 40s or early 50s and acrylic was only just coming into use at that time.

Better movement pics will help identifying it. That too would help with the dating.

    It is a nice piece!

Sorry to say - "rare" yes. Why? Because its not all original.

So its unique only by the fact somebody modified it

You do see this done to a number of vintage watches - a normal crystal fixed on the back to form a display back. I'd prefer to have the proper caseback.

Apart from that it looks to be a decent enough Benrus but nothing out of the ordinary. The Benrus DN 2F movement is an ETA cal 1281.

I'm a little suspicious of the "Shock Absorber" text printed where it is, so close to the center post and looks to be actually touching the bevel of the sub seconds dial. That could be a sign of a redial, but the brushed silver finish looks good enough.

Thanks!!! Both crystals are acrylic and the movement is a DN2F I was thinking it could have been a Benrus Sales persons marketing watch for show. If it is a modification it was done very well and looks factory to me? I found a couple other listing when searching on the web for a Benrus with display case back. http://www.etsy.com/listing/61628714...age-mens-1960s

    Hi and welcome
Aside from terrible pictures AND from a seller with basically no feedback, watch looks OK
    Plus original box ?
That said his reserve may be to high compared to a reasonable value

    Watch closely

Ok. Any idea approximately what year this particular watch was made ? There's no I.d. number on the back.
