    Black Zodiac Hermetic Incasecurit

    Hi,
Anyone know anything about this watch - it's my dad's and we would like to know if anyone knows the year, name, etc. We think it's a pretty nice looking watch - face is shiny and not bad for a vintage, so we were wondering just how old it might be. Thanks!

1950's is my guess - dial design and 'waterproof' on the caseback indicate this. The watch has no model 'name' - that is something American watches did more than others.

    Nice looking heirloom.

You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

I have been eyeing these for a while. Certainly 1950s, pre diver really. Very very nice.

Agreed - very likely 1950's. Unfortunately, there is no known serial number list. The brand is still going but nowadays is owned by Fossil and has no real connection with the original company.

The definitive site for Zodiac is:

    Vintage Zodiacs

which does list Hermetic as a model name in their gallery section. You could post there to ask for a dating - but clearer pictures would be a good idea. The company was, perhaps, best known for its 1953 Seawolf, professional sports and divers’ watch. And features prominently, of course, in the film Zodiac.
