Bucherer Automatic.... Looks to be from the 80's?

    Hi everyone,

I have this Bucherer and I did some research and cannot come across anything similar. Could anyone offer some knowledge? By the way this is from my 89 year old friend Paulius's collection.

Bucherer is a high end Swiss jewellers, who sell well spec'd watches - they seem more popular in the US than in Europe, at least going by eBay listings. The movement in this one is a good quality, probably ETA, although the exact calibre I won't guess at, as I can't see the balance cock and don't know the size. Someone here will know, for sure.

As to value, you'll have to look at eBay completed listings. The US sellers are usually dealers, in my experience, and tend to ask premium prices (ah, but do they get the prices?). But it looks like a gold plated watch with an automatic movement and Bucherer signed GP bracelet, so you ought to be able to work out a good valuation on eBay.

It's a 70's AS movement and the caliber is under the balance wheel.

The following Adolf Schild calibres come into consideration:

    AS 1816 (if 18000 A/h beat rate)
    AS 1906 (if 21600 A/h beat rate)
AS 1916 or AS 2066 or AS 2076 (if 21600 A/h and a date quick set feature)
    AS 2176 (if 28800 A/H and a hack feature)

bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: AS 2076
