    "Bullhead" in the house!

The postman dropped off my "new" 1970s Citizen "Bullhead" today. The case is about 38mm x 43mm and it's equipped with Citizen's
23-jewel cal. 8110A automatic chronograph. The bracelet is a period-correct folded steel oyster style. It's keeping good time and
the chrono functions seem to work fine.

    Regards from Sunny San Diego..........Tom

    Congrats!

Did you say that was NOS? I just gave mine to a friend since I never wear it. The crystal was badly scratched and I couldn't get it out to replace it. I always thought it was strange that those Citizen bullheads didn't have second hands...

Ron, most consider that the in the case of the vertical clutch chronographs, such as the Seiko 6138 and 6139 and the Citizen 8100A and 8110A, the clutch is best left engaged in normal use. The approach of the Seiko and Citizen designers was to allow the center second to serve in both continuous and timing interval modes.

With Tom's Citizen, the flyback allows him to start a timing event from continuous run mode with a single stroke of the 4 o'clock pusher. After either stopping the timer with the 2 o'clock pusher after a timing event, or not, the center second can be instantaneously set to the correct time of day with another stroke of the 4 o'clock pusher.

I think many today under appreciate how well thought out and well engineered the Citizen 8100A and 8110A approach is. I acknowledge that I did for forty years. Paul

And now it's in my stable. Just bought it from Peter (gr8sw). I've always admired the "pacifichrono collection" as Tom knows. I like it. Thanks for the info about the movement Paul.

Thats really nice and in such good condition. Congrats. Someone told me to leave the chrono running all the time so it doesn't wear out is that true?
