    Bulova Accutron

    Hey Cats,
Thought I'd show this off, it's been in the box for a couple years now, it landed in there not working or should I say not working properly as it would start and stop and not keep time when it would run for a few days before stopping again. Felt like a small watch project so I gave it a polish and put a denim strap and new battery in it and off it went but this time it works perfectly?? Not sure what that's about but I figure the other battery must have been down on juice as this fresh one did the trick, I'm assuming that when the battery for these hummers gets down on power it malfunctions, Am I on the right track in my thinking??

    Peace,
    Preston

Likely yes, by chance no: The index mechanism is usually adjusted to use the
total battery charge efficiently, i.e. the watch neither runs with double speed
with a fresh battery nor stops resonably before the battery's end of life.

Simply watch how long it runs with a fresh battery. If it stops again after few
months, it needs either cleaning or adustment, if it runs longer, everything is o.k.

    Thanks Roland,
It's keeping time right now and I swapped out that denin strap, swapped it for a proper black leather. I'll continue to monitor, probably best to monitor on wrist to account for any temperature issues related to stiffened oil in the movement eh??
