    Bulova American Eagle

I just picked this up off of eBay for $20. I could not believe I won the auction for that price. It is a 1939 Bulova American Eagle. The watch was sold as excellent condition but not winding. Well I got the watch today and a quick look could see that the ratchet wheel had come unscrewed causing it to jump the transmission gear. A quick tightening and a little oil she seems to be winding and running perfectly. I really love the style of this watch and I have to say the band appears original and is pristine. As a matter of fact there is no wear anywhere on the gold filled watch or band . Very happy!

After further review I believe this is a 1938 Montgomery with a 1937 movement and not an American Eagle as it was advertised. Still a great watch.

I agree with you on the "Montgomery" ID. American Eagle although similar, different.

Nice watch! Montgomery's aren't all that common.
