Question BULOVA SEA KING - How does the movement look?

Got a watch! Was wondering if the movement looked decent and clean to you guys. I can never tell!

    overhauling
    cleaning
    lubricating
and testing movement against a timing machine.

I’m curious how you go about checking parts authenticity.

    Is that not a thing?
    Did I make a bad purchase? :o

The seller had nearly 600 positive reviews so I figured it was all good

Looks like a nice watch. Can't really look for authenticity of parts but maybe seller was just making sure it wasn't a franken watch with wrong movement, etc.. No way to really see if was fully serviced without tearing it apart. All you can do is hope the seller is reputable.

Maybe you can have your watchmaker check that the jewel cups are lubricated and put it on the timegrapher for you. That won't guarantee that the service was done well, but it would be better than nothing. We can't tell you very much from a photo.

    Nice piece.
    Movement looks all good.
Although if you plan to wear it and don't have service history it is better to give it a service.

Great dial on that one. The movement looks clean enough. Is it missing the case screws?

It looks like the crystal has scratches and maybe a crack over the VII numeral (?) Assuming it's acrylic the scratches can generally be polished out, but if cracked it would really need replacing, (and this should have been included in a full service).

I haven't handled it in person yet, just won the auction haha
I'll try to take more pictures of the crystal when I get it, which is hopefully soon.
    Thanks for the comments!

The screwheads on the balance cock and one on the barrel bridge, as well as on the click, look to have some corrosion. Anyway, you'll see the watch soon enough.
