    Bulova Super Seville Question

I've had this watch for a few years now. After getting into watches in 2009 I went on a bit of an e-bay spree. I picked up an Elgin pocket watch, Omega Seamaster cal. 752, and this Bulova Super Seville. I didn't know it at the time but over the years I have come to realize that it is a redial, and not a very good one at that. I haven't worn it in probably over a year, partly because I prefer sportier watches and partly because of the redial.

This leads me to my question. I have seen these go on e-bay for a few hundred dollars Canadian, but what is a redial worth? I can't remember what I paid, and I don't want to deceive anyone. Is it worth selling? What about getting a proper redial done? I would rather have it go to someone who will wear it rather than have it taking up a spot in my watch box and not seeing any wrist time.

I would appreciate some advice as these are the only vintage pieces I have purchased.

I respect your refusal to wear the watch - in part - on the grounds that in your estimation it is a poor redial.

I would have no such reservation about wearing the watch - if it kept reasonable time - in the condition it currently exists.

At the NAWCC regionals/national you will see a certain clique of traders/vendors proudly wearing and displaying some of the most spectacularly attrocious reprinted/aftermarket dials imaginable. Your watch would definitely be out of place there.

Thanks for the reply pithy. So I guess what you're saying is that the redial isn't that bad. So if I were to look into selling it, how much should I expect to take off the price vs one with an original dial?

Depends on who wants it, and if they like it. There are no "firm" prices available for vintage, ever. Its all a matter of timing, luck, and vagaries of fate.

That algorithym is yet to be revealed to me. lol.

If I didn't require the money from it I wouldn't sell it.

It is a very under appreciated classic in decent condition.
