    Buser Freres Chronograph info needed

Hi everyone! I found this good looking Buser Freres Chronograph in the market but I know nothing about it...

Looks in good condition and shows a clean chrono movement, perhaps a Valjoux 7733?

Very few info in the net: Buser Freres & Cie was born in 1916. Aimed to the German and North American market...

Anyone who knows more than me (not very difficult) could please help me learn more about this brand and this particular watch!?

    Thank you WUS!

The movement is a Venus 188, which has been continued as the Valjoux 7730 from 1966 on. The Venus 188 was introduced in 1948, so that's the earliest year when your watch might have been made. No shock device= very early 1950s (usually). I would risk saying, that circa 1955 would be the latest date, by then the majority of manufacturers would have used Incabloc or just about any other shock device. Some American-market watches didn't have that even in the late 1950s, but that's specific to this particular market. If as you say Buser Freres manufactured watches for the German and American markets, then this one would have been made for the German market- there seems to be no US import code on the balance cock.

Great! Thanks for that info. The Venus movement it has seems to be pretty reliable with a 45h reserve.

I think it's a nice looking watch and well preserved knowing it is from the 1950s or so.

I didn't find many resources to estimate its market value, however I might pull the trigger with this one for less than $200...

Thank you again for your info and I'm open to hear more about this piece!

Buser Freres teamed up with Revue Thommen, Vulcain & Studio and Phenix to form the M.S.R. (Manufactures Suisses Reunies) in 1961 - later on, in 1973, Marvin joined as well. This watch is probably from before that fusion.
