BWC Wehrmacht Movement AS 1130, Help!

    Hi

I have just got this very beutilful vintage BWC watch. The movement is an AS 1130 (Wehrmacts), which here is my question
Is the watch an used one for the wehrmacht during ww2 or is it one of the afterwards produced by the inspiration with a wehrmacht movement???

Please see the pictures, notice there is a number on the backcase.

I hope someone can help me, please.

Definitely no German Army watch but made rather later. The real thing had markings like "DH" around the case serial number. I inherited one very much like yours (but gold plated and with date - the Cal. AS 1561, a derivative of the AS 1130) and that one is from ca. 1960.....

As Hartmut wrote the military ones have DH numbers stamped on the back. EG

That's a DOXA but they all had it. Sometimes they just have a D(for I believe Luftwaffe or secondary military use such as military police/fire fighters) and the Zenith has the serial number stamped in a curve rather than straight like the rest.

I can well understand why that AS movement went on being used for so long, it was a very nicely designed movement from the start and very robust.
