    Calling for Girard-Perregaux experts!

Please take a look at this 39J gyromatic from the 1960's

    Auctiva Image Hosting

    1) Does the girard perregaux (with a missing dash - ) look authentic to you?

    2) Also, the markers look a bit bold for a GP watch? Does this look like it was from the 60's?

    3) The GP bevel on the dial looks slightly too raised.

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks!!

Dial looks authentic to me. Not too sure about the crystal, haven't seen such a cyclops before.

Dial appears genuine. Glass is a new addition, easy to swop back to original non-cyclops style.

The missing hyphen is a big concern to me and also the shoddy writing on the rotor would make me think twice.

    Huh?

It's original – the font and lettering on the dial are too good for it to be a redial.

No idea what you're talking about re: "shabby writing", as the rotor also looks OK.

It's all pushed right of the center ending to close to the edge, the different text lines aren't aligned together all mashed together and the "w" in Jewels is pushed up into the 39 so yes shoddy.

Other GP watches have so much nicer writing.

You're wrong. There are many variations that were produced by GP. The model shown is very similar to some Richeville models. Here's an image of a rotor from one them. While the writing is not identical (this is a chronometer), you can see that the type is close to the top of the rotor as well.

The subject watch is original, and there are no red flags.

Yes but it hasn't the problems I mention as the text is centered and correctly aligned and no letter is out of place.

    You are WRONG.

    Notice any similarities?

Why would I be wrong as both are shoddy? This might have been how they did it during this time but it's no less shoddy workmanship. This one is bad as well but not as bad as the OP one.
