    can anyone identify this?

Hi, this watch was in my Great Aunt's collection - it says 14 Kt gold on the back and here is the front. How do I find out the year of manufacture and what is worth?

    thanks

Looks early 40's, worth - sentimental or scrap price of the Gold.

A picture of the movement might help with the dating - 17 jewels more common in late 40's or maybe 50's. Essex is not a brand I know, but seems likely to have been a US brand: Mikrolisk - was Feines für die Tasche... - Das Informationsportal rund um die Taschenuhr!

The wording on the dial looks like it was done by hand. We don't attempt valuations in here - but I tend to agree with Watchbreath.

Please don't PM me to ask for a valuation - I won't attempt one.
