Can anyone value this vintage Descartes diver for me?

The owner is asking about $200, service history unknown but all original parts and seems to be working fine. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

I wouldn't pay that much for a chrome cased watch and you can find similar watches for less on eBay. If it was a steel case then the price is more in the ballpark but remember it may have problems you don't know anything about so putting a value on a specific watch is impossible.

As @shum mentioned, it's an entry-level diver-style watch in a chrome-plated case. In general, such watches are a dime-a-dozen on eBay, but the values obviously depend a lot on condition and appeal/attractiveness. Other things also affect value a lot, such as size, which you haven't indicated.

We can't put a value on it for you, but it's a clean piece with an attractive blue dial, which is not so common, and the movement is better than the pin-lever examples that one often finds. It's not a valuable or collectible watch, but it's nice looking. Your money ... your decision.

Cosmetically it looks excellent. It's rare to see that kind of black plastic bezel in such good condition, but be aware if you plan to use this watch a lot that the bezel will probably be relatively fragile.
