You'll be hard pressed to find someone who will give you a monetary answer to your question, it's a written rule on WUS not to give estimated values. Check the bay as well as Watch Recon, Elite Deal Seeker, and Chrono 24, that may give you a more definite answer.

    It's a beautiful piece, though...

Thank you Marrick and I apologize, I thought I had read a post in a different thread referring to it as an unwritten rule. I stand corrected and updated my previous post to reflect this.

The simple answer to the question is (- always! -): if you're selling, as much as you can get for it or, if you are buying, as little as you can get it for!

The most expensive carpet ever sold (recently) was a Persian Safavid carpet from Kerman from the 17th century. A lady wanted to sell it and had it estimated at around 1000 Euros. She was very pleased when it went for 17000 Euros at a local auction. She was rather less pleased when it was re-offered at Sotheby's for 200-300000 Euros starting estimate and went for 7.2 million Euros. The moral of the story? Do your research very carefully - and never take one person's estimate as gospel truth!!! And now you know the reason why we don't give valuations here.....
