Can you identify this Caravelle Swiss pocket watch movement?

    Howdy,

I'm trying to identify this movement. It's a Caravelle and is Swiss made.

I've looked at several ETA pocket watch movement pictures, but haven't been able to determine a match. Part of the difficultly is that there aren't a whole lot of dial-side pictures available.

    Thanks for your help,

    Doug

Hmmmmm - some pictures of the movement from the other side would be rather more useful. The movement doesn't seem to be conceived to have a small seconds hand (i.e. not only does this watch not have one but any watch with this movement will lack it) since the gear for it isn't exactly opposite the winding stem (as would be the case in a lepine movement). The shock proofing is not Incabloc so I expect that it's some sort of chinese movement.

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the other side of the movement.

No sub-second; but sweep second, yes.

Re: lepine, I was wondering whether this is a savonette movement in a lepine case?

Re: Chinese, "SWISS MADE" is printed beneath the dial.

    Thanks for your help.

Ah yes! Sorry, I'm being a bit dim tonight (missed the central seconds hand as well as the shape of the escape gear, pointing to a pin lever movement). Here's a link to the movement:

Das Metatechnische Kabinett - Uhrwerkehersteller: Amida

The central seconds is indirect but integrated into the movement. The main geartrain runs along the edge of the movement rather than through the middle. The gear next to the escape wheel is not quite opposite the winding stem - that would make it a proper lepine movement (the ones with that gear at right angles to the crown are savonettes or "hunter" movements). I believe that this movement is based on a pin lever movement but has been converted to Swiss lever - the ruby is just visible.
