    Candino Blue Square watch find...

I just picked up this blue square watch. Has anyone seen a watch with this dial before from Candino...?

I am really impressed with the detail on the blue dial, which has two shades of blue with a vertical center line. Also, the orange/red paint markers look so bright up close... Just when I thought I was bored with low cost watches this gem shows up and reminds there is always another great low cost vintage watch out there..., waiting to be found...!

Pretty cool - never seen one like it. Very 1970s - Iconic even.

The Candino trademark (which includes the design) was registered in 1970 in the US by Candino Watch Co, with use cited back to 1958. They registered a name change to "Festina-Candino Watch AG" in 2010, also in Herbetswil, so apparently they're still alive and doing well. Festina was a Spanish company, but I suspect the connection isn't relevant to your watch.

Festina still is a Spanish company - there are quite a few for sale in our local jeweller/watchmaker.

Is it the same Festina of Festina-Candino?

Gorgeous dial! You managed to find a vintage watch that was beautifully maintained, or hardly used.....they done't make them like that anymore!

Yes - they mention it on their website (FESTINA Uhren - Deutschland - logo at the bottom).
