    Caravelle with French movement?

I'm having a devil of a time trying to find a movement ID in the Ranfft database.
Most likely because I'm not choosing the right balance bridge from the choices.

Anyways, trying to identify the maker of the movement for this Caravelle watch.
I know Caravelle is the introductory line of Bulova watches, so figured they'd be using some of the similar movements. But this watch is signed as a French movement.

    Anyone familiar with this one?

All I know is that from the N8, I'm guessing this is from 1978.

    On to the pics:

I've got more Converse sneakers than watches, but it is a close race.

Very odd, since they usually were all Japanese movements after the early 60s.
Well, found your watch in question after doing a search. Also found this from 1979:

    Much appreciated MrSnak
    Enjoyed the jazzy background music.
    Did you ID the movement?
    Didn't see it mentioned.

Can you get a close picture of the symbols underneath the balance wheel? I can't quite make them out...

Jeez, I kept expecting one of the watches to strip and start fondling the other one...

It looks like a symbol with "FE"
There is a "C" before it.
There is also looks like a "140" underneath the regulator.

Aaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddd , I just answered my own question.
I looked up FE 140C in the Ranfft guide and bingo.

Don't know much about France Eubauches myself, but so far keeping good time.

Caravelles came with Swiss, German, French and Japanese movements depending on model and year.

In short, France Ébauches was the biggest french movement manufacturer, they made a joint venture in the 90s' with China, then became 100% Chinese in 2000.

    It's now called Technotime.

The auto movements were found in the YEMAs of the 70s', I have a few of those :
