    Cartier Quartz watch

    Hello folks,

I have been looking for opinions on this watch for the longest time. It belonged to my grandmother, and my mother thinks is worth something but i am not too convinced. But before i sell it for chewing gum i would love some input. Here are some questions i have if the lovely people of this forum are willing to answer.

Is it worth the effort of repairing and selling?
Where would be the best place to begin to auction a watch of this type? Online or auction house?

Any other comments or suggestions are incredibly welcomed.

Well, I would need to see the insides to be sure but from what I see, I have grave doubts about that being original. The writing on the case back looks all lopsided! "Cartier" slopes slightly from upper left to lower right, "Paris" looks OK to me and the rest slopes from bottom left to upper right. Not the sort of job you would attribute to a quality maker like Cartier.

Oh wow, you are right. Well i pried it open and lo and behold it doesn't look too impressive even to my untrained eye. Picture:

So what would be the final verdict? Fake, not worth auctioning?

Good evening, on my opinion the watch is not original.

If it is a fake, do not try to sell it at all. You don’t need Cartier coming after you for selling a counterfeit.

If that's what Cartier put into their quartz watches, I don't know why they charge so much money for them! Obvious fake, thread closed.
