Very nice watch with a solid gold 14kt case. I do not recognize the hallmark but someone will. It will tell us where the case was made. We need a picture of the movement (insides) to say much more.
We would call this an heirloom watch since it came from your father. Wonderful!!
My complete guess as to date is the 1930's or 1940's. But the movement picture will give us a better guess.
On a movement of that type, it's not that difficult. The shape is so characteristic. Oh, and I partly cheated - I have a Laco with practically the same movement (ETA 765) from the thirties or forties that belonged to my granddad.....
then ist was likely made before ca. 1935. The Durowe factory was established 1933, and before making own movements Laco actually finished Swiss movements.
That is quite possible. It was my grandfather's watch and he was born in 1906. I have no idea when he really bought it but it may well have been in his twenties. Thanks for the info!
