Columbus Swiss and Gruen's designed p.w.

Got the highest serial number Aeby&Landry Swiss movement 19908 and best I have seen and lowest 24k serial number seen of Dietrich Gruen's design and produced full plate American style that eventually became a fine rr grade; a rather crude object 1883-5? The fine Swiss movements were sold with higher numbers than 20,000 after 1883 to some customers preferring themName: aeby 18s.jpg

As far as I understand - Columbus Watch Co initially sold Swiss movements and later began making their 18s, right?
Good - at least now I understand where these Swiss CWCo marked movements come from :). Before I was a bit confused - signed Columbus, looks great, but it also looks... Swiss! Thanks for the post, now I get it :)
    Have a great day!!!

Seems that many activities Dietrich was involved with are confusing, but adds to the interest in his struggles to be a fine watch producer. Noticed a 20515 serial on Gruen's first designed watch thus closest to 19908 Swiss Columbus I have seen.
