I recently took the plunge and have bought a couple of vintage watches, both cortebert. The first is a gold plated 307.501 hand wind which has been attacked with a screwdriver at the back by the previous owner and is a bit scratched up and in need on a new acrylic watch glass.

The other is a 1960s stainless steel hand wind 697 movement.

The first and probably stupid question is that I can seem to get the back off the 307 movement watch is it just super tight or is this a watch where you have to take the movement out of the front with the crystal off.

I would also be grateful big any of you more knowledgeable people could tell me a little more about either of these watches.
